Worcestershire Parkway Station
ATTS installed in excess of 2000 square metres of terrazzo tiles to the main ticket hall and circulation area.
We used a durable hard floor finish able to cope with the demands of high footfall, synonymous with mass transit projects. The tiles ensure that slip resistance is maintained for the full lifecycle of the tile.
Tiles supplied by: Quiligotti Terrazzo Tiles Limited
Main contractor: Buckingham Group Contracting Limited
ATTS were chosen as the restoration contractor for the tiles and terrazzo of these historic grade 2 listed tunnels due to our experience and involvement with similar projects worldwide.
Both tunnels run in between Howdon and Jarrow and are used by thousands of Tynesiders.
The works comprised the matching and replacement of missing and damaged areas of tiles and terrazzo to the two surface terminal entrance buildings and to the tunnels.
Client: Newcastle City Council
ATTS carried out a complete restoration to the Grand Staircase, some 19 flights, and all its associated landings, skirtings and wall stringers. These areas had suffered many years of neglect, severe damage and over covering with other finishes.
We undertook the restoration of all the damaged areas with new insitu terrazzo and the replacement of the missing non slip mosaic tesserae to the step treads.
A complete re-grind, polish and seal was then carried out to the whole staircase.
ATTS was chosen as the terrazzo contractor for this 1936 Period Building in the Heart of Birmingham due to our involvement in a number of similar projects and for our extensive experience within the terrazzo industry.
